BOX ELDER — The South Dakota Air & Space Museum will host Big STEM Day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 18 at the museum, 2890 Davis Drive. The event is free and open to the public.
Interactive educational exhibits will highlight a variety of STEM fields, including coding, robotics, engineering, science, and mathematics. STEM professionals from South Dakota Mines, the Black Hills Institute of Geological Research and other organizations will be on hand to engage with attendees and share information about careers and opportunities in science and technology.
“This event will showcase the many ways STEM is used in the Air Force and in everyday life,” said Jeanie Kirkpatrick, Curator of the South Dakota Air & Space Museum.
Various units from Ellsworth Air Force Base will also be present to highlight STEM-related careers on base. A base fire truck will be on display during the event.
This is the second year the South Dakota Air & Space Museum has hosted Big STEM Day.
