BOX ELDER — The deadline to sign up for the annual Cleaning Up the Box is Monday, May 25.
The community cleanup begins at 8 a.m. Friday, May 29, at the Box Elder City Hall Community Center, 420 Villa Drive. Volunteers will receive assignments and attend a brief meeting at 8:30 a.m. before heading to their assigned zones. Lunch will be served at noon.
Roll-off dumpsters will be available in the City Hall parking lot for public disposal. To use the dumpsters, the city is asking participants to bring non-perishable food items for the Douglas School Pantry or make a donation to the Black Hills Children’s Museum. Information on how to donate will be available on-site.
Dump hours will be Friday, May 29, from 1 to 5 p.m., and Saturday, May 30, from 8 a.m. to noon, or until full.
Those interested in volunteering may sign up individually or as part of a group. However, each participant must register separately, even when volunteering with a group.
